Oil Extraction and Residue Analysis Station

A precision robot used to analyze motor oils. Multiple work stations on this robot automates dispensing bulk samples of oil with milligram precision, extracting the crude oil to recover a single desired component, capping/decapping, mixing and centrifugation. The versatility of the 4-axis SCARA systems allows the sample to be placed into and removed from a fully automated centrifuge. The centrifuge is custom made by J-KEM and includes circuits that implement precision homing and indexing of the centrifuge’s rotor.
