Environmental Contaminants Test Station
Used to prepare and then analyze filters for field analysis of airborne contaminents
The analysis portion of the program is a 48 hour sequence of transporting filters between four different robotic stations including automated vacuum ovens, microgram balances, and a filter imaging station. The protocol requires that the filters can only be touched on the outer 2 mm of the filter. J-KEM made a custom gripper with a built-in laser micrometer that measures the exact position of the gripper with respect to the filter prior to closing.
Fully automated vacuum ovens with temperature and vacuum pressure under program control.
Precision gripper with built in optical imaging guides the arm to grasp the filter exactly 2 mm from its edge.
