Input/Output Option

Finally……you can control the world!

KEM-IO is an optional feature that can be added to any USB-enabled J-KEM temperature or vacuum controller. It allows the controller to operate other pieces of equipment based on time, temperature changes, or external events. For example, you could instruct the controller to turn on a pump when the reaction temperature reaches 100° C., or to turn off heating when the hood door is opened.

How does it work?

KEM-IO works in combination with J-KEM’s KEM-Net software. Using the software, you define how the controller responds to temperature or external events and when to turn other instruments on or off. You can add Inputs, Outputs, or combinations of both.

Digital Inputs – Allows the controller to detect “switch-type” events such as a hood door opening, loss of cooling water, a motor starting, or a GC making an injection.

Analog Inputs – Measure the “degree” or ” intensity” of something, such as the output from a UV detector or solvent level sensor. Use to automatically set an output, or change temperature when a product peak reaches a user set intensity, or turn On/Off a pump based on system pressure              .

Outputs – Allows the controller to operate other pieces of equipment when a set of conditions is met. For example, turn on a pump when the reaction temperature reaches 100° C., or stop stirring after three hours.
